Jointly sponsored by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and organized by Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce, the 9th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair (APEC SMETC 2016) will be held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on July 14-16, 2016. A total of 21 APEC member economies will participate in this exhibition.
APEC SMETC is a biennial exhibition aiming at showcasing new technologies and products to its member economies, and intensifying technology exchange and business cooperation among APEC members. It is not only a technology exchange exhibition but also an important economic and diplomatic event. Due to China’s economic booming and strong support from Chinese government, APEC begins to shift their focus and major events to China. APEC SMETC is a large international economic, trade exchange co-organized by Chinese government and APEC, and also APEC’s largest, highest-level, most frequent international exhibition held in China.
APEC SMETC insists on “Technology Boosting Economy, Cooperation Creating Future” and emphasizes academic exchange, innovation model discussion, technological achievement show, and win-win economic cooperation. Now it has become an important carrier for APEC members to learn from each other and jointly develop their SMEs innovatively. APEC SMETC is also an important platform for economic and trade cooperation between APEC SMEs, and it has contributed a lot to SME technology exchange and innovation development. The exhibition has been highly recognized by APEC members.
Under the backdrop of “Belt & Road” and “Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, the 9th APEC SMETC, themed with “Innovation Boosting Development, Cooperation Creating Future”, will showcase innovative achievements of APEC member SMEs, promote high-level dialogue and practical cooperation among SMEs in the Pacific-Asia region, build up China’s image as an enterprising, cooperative, and open economy, and demonstrate Shenzhen's innovation-driven and quality-driven urban characteristics.
